An August Full Moon letter about remembering who you are, trusting your soul, and embracing the courage to shine.

Dearest moon-loving soul sibling,
Welcome home.
There is something different about this Full Moon. Can you feel it too?
Some moons arrive like a gentle whisper, softly inviting us to slow down and listen. Others arrive with the unmistakable presence of a sacred drum, calling us to remember who we are. This moon feels like the latter. She arrives during the heart of Leo Season while the Lion’s Gate portal is opening, offering a beautiful invitation to step more fully into the sacred essence you were born to radiate.
Whether you have Leo written all over your birth chart or simply love someone who carries that radiant lion-hearted spirit, I believe we all have a little Leo within us. She is the part of us that longs to create without apology, to love with our whole heart, to laugh from our belly, to dance because the music moves us, and to share our gifts without shrinking ourselves to make others comfortable. She reminds us that joy is sacred and that living fully is never selfish. It is a gift we offer the world. Every time one of us chooses to live authentically, we quietly give another woman permission to do the same. To me, that is collective healing.
This Full Moon feels like a mirror held gently before us. Rather than asking us to focus on what is broken or what still needs to be healed, she reflects just how beautifully we’ve already grown while illuminating the gifts, dreams, and truths that are ready to be expressed more boldly. If you’ve been quietly wondering, “Is it finally time?” perhaps this moon is smiling back at you and gently whispering...
Yes.
You were created to radiate your sacred essence.
One of the greatest gifts the Moon has given me over the years has been learning to trust my own relationship with the Divine.
For much of my life, I believed there was a “right” way to pray, a “right” way to worship, and a “right” way to experience God. Those beliefs were woven deeply into my years of organized religion, and truthfully, there are still moments from that chapter of my life that I cherish.
I loved hearing an entire room softly recite the Lord’s Prayer together. There was something undeniably beautiful about so many hearts speaking in unison. And even then, there was always a quiet whisper inside me asking...
“What about our Mother in Heaven?”
At first it was only a whisper, one I gently tucked away because I didn’t know what to do with it. But soul whispers have a way of becoming impossible to ignore. Eventually, that whisper became a roar, and in 2015 it led me onto an entirely different path, not away from God, but deeper into the Divine. It became a journey of remembering instead of searching, of listening instead of performing, and of discovering that my soul had always known how to pray.
That realization changed everything.
It also changed the way I experience the Moon.
The older I become, the more I realize that the most sacred rituals are rarely the most elaborate. They are the ones that soften my heart, quiet the noise, and help me hear my own soul again.
Last night, once the sky was dark as ink, I stepped outside with my little tray of sacred tools. Nestled gently in my hand was my beloved raw peridot, the birthstone my husband gifted me several years ago. Every time I hold her, I’m reminded that my heart already knows the way. Peridot has become a bridge between my heart and my inner fire, inviting compassion and courage to walk hand in hand. She reminds me that radiance isn’t something I have to earn. It naturally unfolds every time I choose to live from the truth of who I already am.
As I settled beneath the moonlight, I wrapped my fingers around my peridot, closed my eyes, and breathed until I could feel myself arriving. Not arriving somewhere new, but arriving home to myself. One hand rested over my heart while the other held my peridot, and I simply sat in the stillness until my heart was ready to speak.
Instead of asking what needed to be released, I found myself asking a different question...
How is my soul inviting me to radiate more fully?
The answer didn’t arrive all at once. It unfolded gently across the pages of my journal. I found myself writing about dreams that have been quietly growing roots beneath the surface, the gifts I feel called to share more boldly, the joy I want to choose more often, the love I want to give more freely, and the woman I am continually remembering myself to be. When the words reached their natural resting place, I read them aloud beneath the Moon, allowing Her to witness the promises I was making to my own heart. As I closed my journal, I smiled. My heart felt more open, more aligned, and more deeply connected to the woman I came here to be. It reminded me that the most sacred moments are often the simplest ones, those quiet conversations between our souls and the Divine that ask for nothing more than our willingness to be fully present.
As you spend time with this beautiful Full Moon, I hope you’ll trust your own heart to lead the way. There is no perfect ritual, no right sequence of steps, and no checklist the Moon asks us to complete. She simply invites us to pause, listen, and remember.
Maybe you’ll sit beneath the stars with your birthstone nestled in your hand. Maybe you’ll light a candle, pull a few tarot cards, steep a warm cup of herbal tea, wander barefoot through the grass, or simply place your hands over your heart and whisper a quiet prayer of gratitude. However you choose to honor this moon, know that you’re doing it beautifully. The Moon has never asked us to imitate someone else’s magic. She simply illuminates the path that has always been yours.
As you move through this beautiful Full Moon, I hope you’ll pause long enough to celebrate how beautifully you’ve already grown. We spend so much of our lives reaching toward the next horizon that we sometimes forget to honor the woman standing here today, the one who kept choosing love, who kept trusting the whispers of her soul, and who continued saying yes to herself even when the path wasn’t entirely clear.
She is worthy of celebrating.
May this Full Moon illuminate your gifts. May the fire of Leo awaken your joyful courage. May the Lion’s Gate portal inspire you to embody the fullest expression of your sacred essence, trusting that your light is meant to be shared generously with the world. The world doesn’t need a different version of you. It is blessed every time you choose to be fully yourself.
Thank you for meeting me here each month. Thank you for walking this sacred path beside me. It is one of my deepest joys to gather beneath these moons together, each of us carrying our own stories, our own wisdom, and our own beautiful light.
As for me, I’ll continue honoring La Luna this evening in whatever way my heart feels called. Maybe I’ll return beneath the stars with my journal, or maybe I’ll simply sit in stillness with a warm cup of tea. I’ve learned to trust that whatever ritual unfolds is exactly the one my soul needs.
If you’re looking for a little inspiration, keep scrolling. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite crystals, essential oils, journal prompts, affirmations, a simple moon ritual, and a blessing that I hope will inspire you to create a ritual that feels beautifully your own.
Until we gather beneath another moon...
Wrapping you in moonbeams,
Debra
A Little Gift Before You Go...

If you’re feeling called to spend a little time beneath this beautiful Full Moon, here is the simple ritual I’ll be returning to this evening. May it inspire you to create one that feels beautifully your own.
A Full Moon Ritual for Radiating Your Sacred Essence
Create a space that feels peaceful and welcoming. Light a candle if you’d like, brew a cup of tea, or simply step outside beneath the moonlight. Hold your birthstone if you have it, or another crystal that speaks to your heart. If you don’t have either, simply place your hands over your heart. That is more than enough.
Close your eyes and take a few slow, nourishing breaths. Feel your feet upon the Earth. Feel the gentle rhythm of your heartbeat. Imagine the Moon’s light surrounding you with warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love.
When you feel ready, ask yourself...
How is my soul inviting me to radiate more fully?
Allow your answer to unfold naturally. There’s no need to force it. Write whatever rises to the surface. Perhaps you’ll discover dreams that are ready to bloom, gifts longing to be shared, relationships calling for deeper presence, or a part of yourself that has been quietly waiting to be seen.
When your journaling feels complete, read your words aloud beneath the Moon. Let Her witness the promises you’re making to your own heart. Notice how your body feels as you speak them. Breathe them in. Let them become part of you.
Before you close your ritual, place both hands over your heart and quietly say...
“I radiate the sacred essence I was created to share. My light is a gift, and I trust it completely.”
Take one final deep breath, offer a prayer of gratitude in your own words, and carry that feeling with you as you step into the days ahead.
May this Full Moon remind you that your radiance has never been something to earn. It has always been something to remember.
